Sgt. Henry H. Haywood was a New York City Police Officer who was a member of Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders Troop K. He fought in the Battle of Las Guasimas, Cuba, June 24th 1898. He died in the divisional hospital on July 2nd 1898 from a bullet wound received in the abdomen during the attack on San Juan Hill July 1st. He was Identified by his Police Badge attached to the inside of his shirt.
