Marjorie Marie Lisby, 99, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Greencastle and Coatesville, joined her husband Raymond and son David in heaven on Sept. 23, 2014.

Marjorie was born April 29, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Golda Harter.

Marjorie married Raymond Lisby on Oct. 31, 1936 and they lived all their married life in Putnam County, where they raised their five children to know God.

Marjorie was involved in evangelistic music by singing and playing the piano and organ. She taught her children to love music, and loved to find the place God wanted her to serve.

Marjorie taught many to play the piano and organ in her home. She also baked cakes for parties and weddings and her family joined her in catering many weddings throughout the Putnam County area.

Marjorie was well known for her skills in painting, knitting, crocheting and tatting; family and friends have many samples of her work to help them remember her.

In addition to her husband and son, preceding her in death were her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Howard Cox.

She is survived by her sons Mytron (Kathy) of Winter Haven, Fla.; Don (Judy) of Alma, W.Va.; Dale (Jeanne) of Bloomington; and daughter Anita Miller of Avon.

Also surviving are grandchildren Aaron, Ben, Marci, Melanie, J.D., Kaleigh, Dawn Ann and Catherine, along with several great-grandchildren; nieces Inga, JoAnna, Esther, Carol, Barbara, Suzie and Jane Ann and nephews Edwin, Alva and Jimmy. Special friends surviving include Mike and Carolyn Kelly and Melissa Gough. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Fillmore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers friends and family may make memorial contributions to the Raymond and Marjorie Lisby Scholarship Fund through the Putnam County Community Foundation (P.O. Box 514, Greencastle, IN 46135), this fund provides scholarships to high school graduates to attend DePauw University.

Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, is in charge of the services.

The family invites all to gather at the Fillmore Christian Church after the services to join in fellowship, food, and remembering Marjorie.
