Mr. Dennis Clarence Griffin, age 60, of Gainesville, Ga. passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at Lakewood Baptist Church with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Dr. Tom Smiley and Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the funeral home.
Mr. Griffin was born in Fitzgerald, Ga. and was the son of the late Raymond Washington Griffin and Margery Clements Griffin. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, where he served as deacon minister and several years in the children's ministry. Dennis was retired from the Hall County Library System and worked for the state of Georgia as a caseworker in the Community Care Services Program. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Arthur and Sophronia Griffin and Jake and Martha Clements.
