New Cumberland Man Killed In Vietnam War
A Navy man from New Cumberland has died In the Vietnam War, the Defense department announced in Washington yesterday.
He was Navy Hospital Corpsman Third Class Ralph D. Hale, II, of 501 Eighth street (sic). Hale, who was 22, was graduated in 1963 from Cedar Cliff High school where he played varsity football and baseball.
Hale, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph D. Hale, attended Shippensburg State college two years and then joined the navy. Among the survivors is a sister, Mrs. Alene Fickling, Milltown, N. J.
Hale was one of four more Pennsylvanians listed as dying in the war, the Associated Press reported.
