He was an Army veteran of WWII where he spent 44 months, a member of UMVA, was retired from Bethlehem Mines with 28 years of service and was a Christian, attending many area churches before becoming sick.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Lee Foster,one daughter-in-law, Johanna Bonds Foster.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Verna Lee Moore Foster; son, Eddie Wayne Foster of Tazewell,Va;
daughters, Patty Kay Foster Cooper and husband, Eddie, of Dawes; Rita Gail Foster Arthur and husband, Carl, of Dawes; one brother, Dewey Foster of Coal Fork; five grandsons, Tracy Edward Cooper, Carl Arthur lll, Glenn Foster, Jason Allen Arthur and Jonathan Edward Foster; many nieces and nephews.

Service was at ll a.m. Tuesday, November 20,2001 at Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank, with Rev. Jack Long officating.
Burial was at the Foster Cemetery, Dawes.

Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank, was in charge of arrangements.
