Cynthia Ann Dickey, beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on September 19th. She would have celebrated her 83rd birthday next month. Cynthia was born in Decatur, IL to Everett F. and Kathryn P. Dickey. Her school years were spent in Warrensburg, IL. She graduated from William Woods College in Fulton, MO and attended Milliken University in Decatur, IL. She worked many years for the Illinois Department of Labor Employment Service in Chicago before making the big move to Tustin, CA with her mother Kathryn in 1980. She then went to work for the University of California, Irvine until her retirement.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David F. Dickey. She is survived by brother, John J. Dickey (Virginia) of Apple Valley, CA; three nephews: Stephen F. Dickey (Julie) of Long Beach, Jeffery D. Dickey (Terri) of Fresno, and Devin P. Dickey of Huntington Beach; grandniece Lauren Dickey of Irvine, and grandnephew, Paul Dickey of Fresno.
A memorial service will be scheduled at her longtime church, Messiah Episcopal Church, of Santa Ana, in late October or early November so her family and many good friends will be able to attend. Memorial arrangements will be announced when a date is scheduled.
