Age 81 of Newark, DE, passed away January 8, 2010, in the loving arms of his wife of nearly 60 years, Carolyn (Davis) and surrounded by his family. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Paul was born April 3, 1928 in Philadelphia PA, son of the late Paul S. and Margaret (Carey) Adams. After graduating from Glassboro HS (NJ) where he was an Eagle Scout, he graduated from Catholic University of America in 1953. He later earned a Master of Business Degree from Wilmington College. He worked for the DuPont Co., primarily at the Louviers site, as an architectural and civil engineer for 40 years designing buildings globally. He retired as a Principal Consultant in 1991. Paul served the Diocese of Wilmington for over 50 years. He was chairman of the Diocesan Building Committee for many years and proudly served during the "Bringing the Vision to Life" campaign. He was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and oversaw the building of the parish Formation Center. He was a Eucharistic Minister (also to the sick), Trustee and member of Pastoral Council and several other parish ministries. In 2005, Paul received the Benemerenti Papal Medal of Honor from Bishop Michael Salterelli. This medal is conferred on those who have exhibited long and exceptional service to the Catholic Church, their families and community. Paul worked for many volunteer organizations such as "Meals on Wheels", "HOSTS", Literacy Volunteers of America and in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton mentoring program at a local High School. He was honored to have been a President and the Newsletter Editor for the USS Ashland Association. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and yearly surf fishing trips with his sons in Cape Hatteras, NC.
