Mrs. Barbara Annette Sailer Cross, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Mrs. Cross was born on December 16, 1936 in Carmona, Texas to Lawrence and Faye Sailer.

She graduated from Groveton High School where she grew up and enjoyed being a cheerleader. She went on to work in three banks and moved to Crockett in 1964 where she met wonderful friends that made her job a joy.

Mrs. Cross enjoyed camping and traveling with family and a lovely group of dear friends. Also dear to her were her group of card friends that she loved getting together with as often as possible. She was past president of Corrigan PTA and had worked as a volunteer for the Cub Scouts and Webelos. She was a member of United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cross was a kind woman, a wonderful wife and good friend to all who knw her and a most loving mother to her children. She will truly be missed but never forgotten.

Survivors include her husband Glenn Cross; son James Cross and wife Jana of San Antonio; daughter Glynda Hightower and husband Keith, of Montgomery, son David Buddy Cross and wife Angela, of Crockett; four wonderful grandchildren, Ashley Cross, Renee' Hightower, Dana Ellis and David Austin Cross; sister Miram Lockhart and husband Thomas Lockhart, living in Corrigan; and a deceased brother, Sam Sailer and wife Opal of Pasadena.

Funeral services for Mrs Barbara Annette Sailer Cross will be held Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Alle Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Keeney Dickinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Carmona Cemetery.
