Ruth Van Patten Peck b. 1905 d.1992, graduated Johnstown HS, Pratt Institute in NYC where she studied costume design and Cobleskill College in 1927. After working as a runway model and teaching, she married G. Harold Peck on Jan 1, 1931 and raised five children with love and tolerance.

Ruth Van Patten Peck of Wall street, in Bacon Hill
died Thursday, September 10, 1992
at Mary McClellan hospital.
Cambridge, after a long illness.
Services were conducted Sunday
at the Bacon Hill Reformed
church, with the Rev.
p Malcolm Brown, pastor,
officiating. Burial was at the
Bacon Hill Cemetery.
Born August 6, 1905 in
Johnstown, she was the
daughter of William and
Margaret (Shoup) Van Patten.
She was a graduate of
Johnstown high school, SUNY
at Cobleskill and the Pratt In-
Btitute in New York city, where
she studied costume design
She taught school for a year
and had been employed in
advertising at The New York
Times. She was also a runway
model while living in New York
Married to G. Harold Peck in
1930, she lived in Pennsylvania
and later in Loudonville. The
Pecks moved to Bacon Hill in
1939, where she helped her husband
with the operation of
Peckhurst Golden Guernsey
Mrs. Peck was a member of
the Bacon Hill Reformed
church, the Women's Guild of
the church and was involved in
other community activities.
Survivors, in addition to her
husband of Bacon Hill, are two
sons, Henry Peck of Bacon Hill
and David Peck of Boonton
Township, N.J.; three
daughters, Mary Beth Rice of
New Hartford, Rhoda Peck of
Exeter, N.H., and Alta Shupe
of Scotia; seven grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two
