OBITUARY: Chillicothe Gazette February 6, 1964

Mrs. Sarah C. (Kate) Lewis, 93, of 47 N. Bridge St., died in Chillicothe Hospital at 1 a.m. Thursday after an extended illness. Born July 15, 1870, at Hope Furnace to James and Rachel Rodgers Hicks, she was married July 4, 1889 to John A. Lewis. He died Feb. 13, 1941. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cora B. Slack of Gothenburg, Neb. and Mrs. George (Marie) Bonner of Columbus; two sons, Charles of Chillicothe and Frank of Cincinnati: 10 Grandchildren, 34 Great grand children, and eight great-great grandchildren. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Royal Neighbors, Bridge Street Church of Christ and was a 75 year member of the Byer Christian Church. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Fawcett-Oliver Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Ramp officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.
