EDEN — Johnny Lynn Tomlinson, 60, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, in Eden, Texas. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the Eden Funeral Home chapel followed by a graveside service in the Eden City Cemetery. Johnny was born, the third son of Louie McKinney Tomlinson and Lillian Celeste Burk Tomlinson, on Jan. 31, 1947, in San Angelo, Texas. He lived his entire life in the Menard County/Concho County area. Johnny retired Dec. 31, 2006, after serving for 20 years as a Concho County Justice of Peace. Many people knew him simply as Johnny Tom or Judge Johnny. He always made an impression on people because he had been a paraplegic for 40 years after a tragic accident at the age of 20. Johnny was so independent and chose to work when he could have received disability and/or other forms of assistance. He never once complained about the fate that life had dealt him nor the things he missed out on because of the injury. He had a remarkable spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by both of his brothers, Willie Tomlinson and wife Vivian of Angleton, Texas, and GEORGE TOMLINSON and wife LINDA TOMLINSON of Eden, Texas. He is also survived by three nephews, Van Tomlinson of Freeport, Texas, JIM BOB TUMLINSON and wife Shay of Burnet, Texas, and Steve Tomlinson and wife Liz of Angleton, Texas; three nieces, Cheryl Tomlinson Wood of Eden, Texas, Tammy Tomlinson Burney and husband John of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Tena Tomlinson Woodcock and husband Greg of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grand-nephews; and eight grand-nieces. Arrangements provided by Eden Funeral Home.
