Scott Patrick "Pat" Brubaker passed away on August 24, 2010 at his home in Eagle. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Cloverdale Funeral Home with viewing prior to service.
Graveside services will conclude at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens with a reception following at the Cloverdale Funeral Home Reception Center. The family requests that casual attire be worn in Pat's honor.
Pat was born on August 29, 1940 in Payette, Idaho, the fourth child of Raymond and Bernice Brubaker. He graduated from Payette High School in 1959 and attended college for a year and a half at the University of Idaho on a baseball scholarship.
Pat met his wife, Marilyn, in Payette and they were married in October of 1962. In the fall of 1963, their daughter, Tammy, was born, later to be joined by a son, Patrick, in 1965.
Pat worked for the State of Idaho Department of Agriculture as a fresh fruit and vegetable inspector. After 10 years in this position he was offered an opportunity to move his family to Boise and work for the USDA FF&V Inspection Service as a supervisor over Idaho and various other states. During his 29 years he was fair in all that he did and was looked to as a mentor and role model.
Pat retired in 2000 and golf became his passion. He and his wife did some traveling and always had a golf course included as part of the trip.
Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice; his father, Raymond; and his sisters, Shirley and Carol.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Eagle; his daughter, Tammy of New Plymouth; his son, Patrick (Shelly) of Meridian; his grandsons, Ryan, Austin, and Connor of Meridian; his sister, Sharon (Tony) Villanueva of Emmett; his brother, Mike (Dixie) Brubaker of California; his sister, Cathy (Gary) Lowman of Meridian; and his sister, Terry (Kerry) LaCoste of Arizona; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2676 S Vista Ave, Boise, Idaho 83705-4155.
