Russell was killed in the line of duty. Russell was born to Russell B. and Myrtle Jean Kocur, Sr. He was a graduate of Deer Park High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell B. Kocur Sr. Russell worked in Knoxville, Tennessee as a Knox County School Security Officer. He worked for 2 1/2 years at Hall's High School in Knoxville. Russell leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother and stepfather, Myrtle Jean Kocur-Hartman and Paul E. Hartman; sisters, Debra Jean Vela & husband Ruben, Suzanne Elaine Morse & husband Danny, Karen Lorraine Herrera & husband Joel; nieces, April Peacock, Amanda Morse; nephews, David Wash & wife Kari, Paul Wash, Christopher Vela & wife Tara, Nicholas Vela & wife Kelly; great nephews, Jake & Justin Peacock, David Wash Jr.; great niece, Haley Morse; stepbrother, Ralph Hartman; stepsister, Karen Hartman; along with many other loving family members and friends.
