In his will JOHN BRADLEY{died in 1840} made the following provision regarding one of his slaves, at one point John had up to 38 slaves.

I hereby direct my Executors after the crop that may be on the place at my death is secured and taken care of my negro boy Tom is to be liberated and set free.
Tom was freed and he married and had a large family.

1870 Census living in Robertson Co Ky~~ Thomas with wife and 9 children. Thomas was age 66 wife Amanda age 49 youngest child Fannie B was age 4.
1880 Census Thomas age 77 with wife Amanda age 52.
It is interesting to note the number of given names which also appear among John Bradley's descendants. It is also of interest that Thomas Bradley,FREEDMAN, is always shown as "Black" in the censuses, never as "MULATTO" but his wife and children are shown as "MULATTO"
