Ruth Rachel Guess, 84, passed away August 26, 2015.
She was born to the late Vance E. and Sarah Barker Russell and was also preceded by her son, Russell L. Guess; siblings, Helen Powers, Lillian Roach, and Ralph Russell.
Ruth, affectionately known as “Bootsie” retired after 50 years of service from C & P Telephone and spent much of her free time playing her favorite game Bridge with her Bridge club and going out to dinner with the Dinner Bells.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia A. Dejongh and her husband Paul, William “Brad” Guess; grandchildren, Hayley J. Ewan, Josh C. Guess; and sister, Mary Bess; and companion, Norman Zwahlen.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd. Virginia Beach, VA.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Foundation in lieu of flowers.
