Dale was born July 1, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa to James and Medaline (Thompson) Dyer. He graduated from East High School, class of '58, and was employed by the Des Moines Register as an independent contractor. Dale enjoyed supporting his grandson, Ryan in all his activities. He liked fishing, gambling, and watching old westerns.
Dale is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Juli Dyer and Robin (Ed) Hilding; grandson, Ryan Hilding; brothers, Dick (Wilma), Ralph (Bert), Charlie (Pat), and Ted (Joann) Dyer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ed Dyer; sister, Barbara Hasting; and first wife and mother of his children, Shirley Anton Dyer.
