Mother: Mary Ketcham b. 16 May 1795 Paris, Oneida Co. NY, d. 29 Jun 1845 Ionia Co, MI
They married 3 Jan 1813 in NY

Mary parents, Alexander and Mary, were some of the first settlers to Lyons, Ionia Co, MI, coming in 1837 from NY. Alexander came with his brother Franklin and they purchased land and built the first framed house in the township. Alexander went back to NY to bring his wife, daughter Mary Elizabeth, and sons, Kelsey and Alonzo back to Michigan in Oct. 1838, and the sons "walked all the way from Detroit to Stony Creek, traveling by the way of Ann Arbor and driving two cows and eight sheep, with which the Chubbs made a pretty good start in the wilds of their new settlement. The lads made the tramp alone, and were just six days doing it."
