The son of Joseph/Josef Adler and Louisa Hryday; married November 9, 1871, in Owen County, Olive Johnson (11/12/1848 - 9/29/1915), daughter of William Johnson and Elizabeth Miller; marriage produced the following children: Uley, Cora B., Alice, Lula, Cordia, Len, Albert O., and Alvin R. Adler.
Died of pneumonia, after fishing in the rain with his grandchildren. Was a lifelong farmer.
