Madelyne Lenora Reeb English

Madelyne Lenora Reeb was born June 23, 1921, in Dallas, the first child of Charles Lawrence Reeb, a veteran of WWI and Thelma Olivia Burge Reeb, mother and homemaker. The oldest of 13 living children, she was raised in Arcadia Park and attended Sunset High School.

Madelyne grew up in a loving, large family of brothers and sisters. Her father was an auto ignition mechanic, which was high tech for the times. Her mother was busy raising the family and active in the parent/teacher association in Arcadia Park.

She married Jess Willard "Bill" English March 15, 1940, and they settled in Irving.
The couple had two daughters, Darlene and Carolene. All three moved to California to join Bill when he served in the Navy in WWII and was stationed in San Jose. The family returned to live in Irving after the war. Madelyne worked as a lab technician at the Medical Arts Building in downtown Dallas, and Bill was a Dallas firefighter.

After the divorce, Madelyne and the girls moved to Lubbock where she worked as a histology technician at Methodist Hospital. Madelyne retired in 1978 and returned to Dallas, later moving to live near a brother in Blum, Hill County. She died from a form of leukemia and left behind her daughters, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
