Georgios Procopi, 81, of South Bend, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, August 9, 2014, surrounded by his loving family in Michiana Health and Rehabilitation, Mishawaka.

George was born May 11, 1933 in Famakusta, Cyprus to Kostantinos and Eleni Procopi. He married Eleni Foukari May 3, 1959 in Cyprus. She preceded him in death December 26, 1999.

George will be greatly missed by family and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing two daughters, Joann (Steve) Christodoulides of Cassopolis, Karen (Keith) Hylek of Valparaiso; two sons, Gus Procopi of South Bend and Pete Procopi of Valparaiso; eleven grandchildren, one great grandson, and four sisters and one brother in Cyprus.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. The Trisagon will be recited at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

The funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, 52455 North Ironwood Road, South Bend by the Reverend Father George Konstantopoulos. Mr. Procopi will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Eleni Procopi in Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Mishawaka.
