Beverly Beatty Park McClosky, 79, Gainesville, Va., passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Va.
Born March 11, 1933, in Warren, Ohio, Beverly was a daughter of the late Harold and Ruby Anderson Beatty of Brookville.
After graduating from Brookville High School in 1951, she lived and worked in Brookville and Clarion, moved to Youngstown, Ohio, and then returned to the Brookville area. Later she moved to northern Virginia, where she enjoyed many years of working as a secretary and administrative assistant on Capitol Hill. After a short move with her husband to Augusta, Maine, they returned to northern Virginia where they owned and operated a house- and window-cleaning service. Later, she returned to Pennsylvania and lived in DuBois, where she worked at Walmart. She then returned to the northern Virginia area where she lived with family.
Beverly had an abiding faith in God and a deep love of family and friends. Reading, working on family history and genealogy and seeing new places were among the many things she enjoyed.
She was formerly married to the late James A. Park and is survived by their children: William (Deena) Park of Mesquite, Texas, Holly Park (Steve Messerschmidt) of Gainesville, Va., and Jerome (Maureen) Park of Burke, Va.
From her marriage to her husband, the late William P. McClosky, she is survived by three stepchildren: Lynn (Colin) Wakeham of Harper's Ferry, W.Va., Barbara Havens of Onley, Va., and Natalie (Jerry) Pendley of Shelby, N.C.
She is also survived by her sister, Ruth (Don) Coleman of Sykesville; 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, David (Wendy) Beatty of Punxsutawney.
Burial will be Friday, Dec. 14, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, Md. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Gainesville, Va.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Jefferson County Historical Society, 172-176 Main St., Brookville, PA, 15825, or to a charity of your choice.
