Glyndell was a victim of the explosion at the junior/senior high school in New London, TX on March 18, 1937. She was in sixth grade. Her mother was a member of the PTA that met there that day. Mrs. Sutherlin survived the blast, but Glyndell, along with over 80 of her sixth-grade classmates, perished.
Arrangements were by Bailey Funeral Home, Palestine. Services for her were held 11:00AM Saturday, March 20, 1937 at the Montalba Baptist Church. However, she was buried in Overton, Rusk County, TX.
