George Bannister Lt. (Ret'd.) George J. Bannister, 62, of 104-C Chattham Drive, Clearbrook, died Monday in Princeton Medical Center. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident and retired as a lieutenant in 1966 after 25 years of service with the N.J. State Police. More recently he was chief of security at Clearbrook. Lt. Bannister was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Retired Troopers Association, American Legion Post No. 31 of Hamilton Township and he was a 25-year member of Mercer Lodge No. 50 F&AM of Trenton. Surviving are his wife, Marie Lentini Bannister; three daughters, Mrs. James C. Peoples and Mrs. Richard E. Cincilla, both of Hamilton Township, and Mrs. Richard Mahnken of Bayonne; one sister, Mrs. George Whartenby of Lawrence Township, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Glackin Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, and burial will be in Ceder Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Mercer Lodge No. 50 F&AM will hold services at 7:30p.m. at the funeral home.
