Funeral services for W.F. Briss, 76, who died at the home of his son, Edward, north of Kensal, were held Thursday at McHenry. Rev. A.O. Borlaugh officiated and burial was in the McHenry cemetery.

Briss, a retired farmer, died of heart disease. He had been in fair health up until the heart attack.

Born March 29, 1877, Briss spent his earlier years at Osage, Iowa, where he attended school. He came to North Dakota as a young man and 27 years ago he came to Foster County. He was married to Elsie Hass at Lucca, N.D., in 1905. Mrs Briss died in 1942.

Survivors are eight sons and four daughters; Joseph and Perry, Courtenay; William and Edward, Kensal; Clarence and Robert, Glenfield; Harry, McHenry; Charles, Kansas City; Mrs Paul (Amy) Frappier, McHenry; Mrs Ray (Alma) Sharbono and Mrs Paul (Alice) Cody, Carrington; Mrs G. Syverson (Helen), Dunseith. There are two brothers, Fred and Henry Briss, Necedah, Wisconsin, 29 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
