Jane F (Lilly) Hamlin was born in St. Mary's, Onterio, Canada, She moved with her parents Walter and Mary (Fairburn) Lilly to Wisconsin at age 2. In 1865 Jane was granted a license to teach 3rd grade. At age 17 she married George Henry Hamlin in Mount Morris, Wisconsin in 1866. The family moved to Merrill, Wisconsin where she died on November 5, 1925.
