Steven Herbert, 57, passed away in his sleep at his apartment at Morningside Manor on Saturday, October 10, 2015, in Roanoke. He is survived by his sister, Linda White of Troutville; and his brother-in-law, Bill White; his sister, Deanna Lynn Day of Ayden, N.C; his niece, Michelle also of Ayden, N.C.; and her children, Daniel and Christian.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Jane W. Billig; and stepfather, Donald Billig of Bloomsburg, Pa.; his three brothers, Richard E. Herbert, Glenn D. Herbert and William Christian Herbert; as well as his father, Edwin Joseph Herbert of Virginia Beach.
Steven moved to the Roanoke area in 2005 to be closer to the family he had left. Steven will be remembered as a friendly and caring person who loved people and never met a stranger.
