Lohri, Anna Barbara Custard, and Gertrude Lohri. John arrived in Philadelphia aboard the Brig Bohl Bohlen on 1 Aug 1846 from the port of Bremen. John is a Union Civil War Veteran. At the age of 18 John enlisted as a private in Company C, 2nd Battalion, 2nd West Virginia Cavalry Regiment on 20 Oct 1861. He was wounded in action. His surname was misspelled as Lorie in U.S. Army documents.
