Delwin R. Kruschke, 82, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Sierra Vista Regional Health Center in Sierra Vista.
Del was born on Sunday, Dec. 25, 1932, in La Mars, N.D., to the late Orville and Myrtle Kruschke.
Del proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman on the USS Shelkoff.
After his discharge from the Navy, he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a master’s in finance. He became a certified public accountant in 1978.
He was an avid runner, competing in seven marathons as well as countless other races. He continued to race until he was 80.
Del married Beverly Jorgensen in Minneapolis, Minn., on April 20, 1968.
He is survived by his three sons: Blair Kruschke of St. Paul, Minn.; Chris Kruschke and his wife Ann and their children Titus, Madeline, and Evely, all of Dayton, Ohio; and Eric Kruschke and his wife Terri and their children Megan and Nathan, all of Cork, Ireland. He is also survived by one brother, Marlyn Kruschke of Battle Lake, Minn.; and a sister, Jolene Kruschke of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Merle; and sister, Gayle.
A time of remembrance will be on Monday, March 23, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Kruschke home in Sierra Vista.
