ELWOOD LINDLEY, OF LOWE DIES APRIL 4

Elwood Scott Lindley, farmer of the Lowe vicinity, died last Thursday afternoon at a local hospital. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Garnand Funeral home and Interment was made at Independence, Kansas.

Mr. Lindley was well known in this vicinity, having lived here a number of years and was well liked by all who knew him. Elwood Scott Lindley, son of Isaac and Elizabeth Lindley, was born July 25, 1875 in Park County Indiana, and died at Garden City, Kansas, April 4, 1935, at the age of 59 years.

He came to southeastern Kansas with his parents when he about five years old, where he lived until several years ago when he came to Finney county.

He was married to Mildred Parkhurst in September, 1899, near Independence, Kansas, and to this union three children, were born Carl L. Lindley of Garden City; Mrs. Beatrice Osa Chaffin, of Holcomb, and Mrs. Wava Philo, of, Yates Center Kansas, who survive him.

Brothers and sisters who survive him are Mrs. Josephine Morgan, Bolton, Kansas; Mrs. Clara Baker, Bolton, Kansas; Mrs. Mary Harvey, Byers, Kansas; Mrs. Hattie Adams, Eureka, Kansas; Patrice Lindley, Havana, Kansas; B. H. Lindley, Independence, Kansas; George Lindley, Independence, Kansas; Howard Lindley, Weir, Kansas, and. Frank Lindley, Topeka, Kansas.
