Ora died as a result of burns to most of her body. While attempting to curl her hair, an alcohol lamp was overturned lighting her night clothes on fire. The accident occurred while she and her mother were visiting her uncle, Albert C. Bilicke, at the Hollenbeck Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
