Democrat Printer Dies at 42
William E. Red, 42, 4015 W. 21st, a printer for the Arkansas Democrat, died Wednesday night in a Little Rock hospital.
He was a member of the American Legion, and the International Typographical Union, Little Rock Local 92. He was active in the American Legion baseball as a manager and coach.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. M. C. Red of Little Rock; seven brothers, Ben Red, Tom Red, and Woodrow Red of Little Rock; Burt Red and George Red of Dallas, Tex.; Cecil Red of Benton; and J. C. Red of Hazen; and a half-brother, Ernest Red of Sheridan.
Funeral will be Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Griffin-Leggett Chapel by Rev. J. C. James and Rev. Burl Ziegler. Pallbearers will be Tommy Lensing, Freddie Johnson, Billy Peel, and Clarence Crist. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the PBMA American Legion Baseball Team. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
