Thomas' birth date is not known and he may have been born somewhere between 1700 and 1720. His Will was written June 6, 1772. It was proved, March 1, 1782 at the Chesterfield County Court. He names two different sets of children so was married previously. Many descendants believe his first wife was Elizabeth Fauntleroy. She may have been married to one of the other men named Thomas Edwards. His wife at the time he wrote his Will was named Mary. Some descendants believe her last name was Harding. They lived in Dale Parish.

"I give and bequeath Hanner(slave) to be equally divided between my first children: Thomas, Peter, Mary, Martha and Phebe." He also gave "a slave named Agge to daughter, Phebe Baugh".

"I give and bequeath Gean(slave) to my five children: Sarah, Priscilla, Elizabeth, Obedience and William."

Note: It is understood that any increase (children) of the slaves will be equally divided between the children.
