Married Helen Douglas Bevil, daughter of Willie and Louise Bevil, on 7 June 1947 in Cornith, Alcorn Co., Mississippi. Moved family to Fresno, Fresno Co., California in August of 1955. Worked as a painter for Cunning & Cunnings Paint Co. until 1957. Went to work for Fresno Unified Schools and retired as the paint shop foreman in 1991.
