Ruby Formyduval Dawson, 85, died peacefully on February 29, 2016 at her residence.
She was born March 29, 1930 in Ash, NC the daughter of the late Orson Pratt and Annie Faulk Formyduval. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Dawson of Wilson, NC and four sisters and three brothers.
Surviving are one sister, Esther Roberts of Houston, TX; three sons, Terry Blackburn (Bess) of Wilmington, NC, Tim Blackburn (Linda) of Littleton, NC and Mark Blackburn (Donna) of Wilmington, NC; one step-daughter, Linda D. Capps of Newport, NC and two sisters-in-law, Leola Formyduval of Whiteville, NC and Lois Formyduval of Shallotte, NC; special friends, Lynn Allen, Nancy Russell, Joyce Ward and Tina Hudspeth, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

She was a retired homemaker and fashion associate for J.C. Penney in Wilson, NC. Devoted to her many family and friends Ruby possessed a wicked sense of humor and always had a joke to share. She was an avid reader and solver of the New York Times daily crossword puzzle.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel in Shallotte, NC on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rick Howell officiating.
