Austin was born in Bossier City on November 28, 1983. A 2002 graduate of Airline High School, he was a student at LA Tech majoring in Airport Management and was a member of ROTC. After graduation this summer, his plans were to the join the Air Force and become a pilot. Austin believed in Jesus, was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church and enjoyed helping his mother teach Sunday school. He was a former employee of Party Central in Bossier City and a current employee of Chevron Fast Lube in Ruston, LA.
His grandfather, Clifton Shoumaker and grandmother, Bernice Shoumaker preceded him in death.
Austin is survived by his parents, James and Noi Shoumaker; sister, Kim Snider and husband Ronnie; nephew, Tyler Holtzclaw; uncles, Alan Shoumaker and wife Kim, Jerry Shoumaker; aunt, Mary Ann Prudhomme and a host of cousins and friends.
Honoring Austin as pallbearers will be Larry Franks, Chris McCallister, Alan Campbell, Alan Shoumaker, Mitchell Shoumaker and Chad Thomas.
Austin was bright, smart and loved dearly by his friends and family.
