Obituary from Mid-Columbia, Friday, July 11, 2008, Tri-City Herald, Pg B3: ROY JENNINGS - Kennewick, Wash. Mueller's Chapel of the Falls ~~ Roy Jennings, 79-years-old, of Kennewick, went to be with his Lord on July 9.
Born in 1928 in Ava, Missouri, he moved to Kennewick in 1943.
After he served in the Army in the Korean War, he met and married his one true love, Glenda Abken of Kennewick, in 1953. They raised two sons, Gary of Hesperia, California, and Jim of Kennewick.
Roy saw the USA from the cab of a Big Rig, and he loved it.
He also enjoyed camping, fishing, tinkering, and playing with his two dogs, Pepper and Sugar.
Roy was a member of Tri-Cities Baptist Church and for many years a member of Kennewick Valley Grange.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nellie; three brothers, Omer, Don and Mason; and one sister, Norene.
Roy is survived by his wife, Glenda; his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Donna of Hesperia, California, and Jim and Kat of Kennewick; his brother and wife, Jean and Judy of Kennewick; his sisters, Louise of Olalla, Washington, and Charlene and her husband, Larry Anderson of Chico, California; his sister-in-law, Joyce; four grandsons, Jason, Zak and (Dawn), Shawn and (Michelle), and Ryan and (Sarah; and six great-grandchildren.
Please come and celebrate Roy's life with us at Cherry Hill Mobile Home Park Club House, 2917 W. 19th Ave., on Sunday, July 13, at 2 p.m.
