Mission Creek Resident Dies Suddenly From Heart Attack While at
Work at His Home.
William Edward Hurt, a Mission Creek resident for the past three years, died suddenly Sunday at home from a heart attack. He was at work in his garden when the attack took him suddenly.
He came to the valley from Troutdale, Ore., three years ago.
His brother, Frank Hurt, and two cousins, Fred and Charles Waters, are pioneers of the valley. He was a member of the Cashmere Grange.
William Edward Hurt was born in Camden County, Missouri, on Feb. 28, 1878, and came to the valley from Troutdale, Ore., three years ago. He died at his home on July 19, 1943, at the age of 65 years, 4 months, and 18 days.
The remains were taken to Portland where services were held and interment made in the cemetery in Troutdale.
He leaves, besides his wife, Catherine Hurt; one son, James W. Hurt of Gladstone, Ore.; one daughter, Agnes Bosshardt of Eugene, Ore.; one son died in 1922; seven grandchildren, his mother, of Lebanon, Ore.; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Wissbaume of Conway, Mo.; and Mrs. Maggge Ivery of Lebanon; two brothers, Bernard of Aurora, Mo.; and Frank B. of Cashmere, Wash.
