WILTON, Wis.- A former Wilton woman, Mrs. Hazel E. Calhoon, 82, of the Mulder Nursing Home, West Salem, died in the home Sunday, April 27. She was born May 11, 1897, in Clinton, Vernon County, to Charles and Elizabeth (Mossholder) Parr, and married Warren Calhoon on Jan. 1, 1916, in Vernon County. They farmed in the Ontario and La Farge areas until his death in 1958. She then moved into La Farge. In 1967, she moved to Wilton and lived there until entering the nursing home. Mrs. Calhoon was a member of the Women's Relief Corps, the Rebecca Lodge and the VFW Auxiliary. Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. La Vern (Lorraine) Schmidt of Norwalk, Mrs. Delbert (La Von) Sheldon and Mrs. Leon (Bessie) McElhose, both of Ontario, Mrs. Edward (Bernice) Osgood of Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Le Roy (Leona) Paulsen of Wilton, and Mrs. Lester (Rose Marie) Phelph of Madison; four sons, Keith of Hillsboro, Dennis of Ontario, James of Florence, Colo. and Jack of Janesville; 41 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one brother, Hugh; and two sisters, Mrs. Ole (Lois) Martinson and Mrs. Bernice DeWitt, all of Westby. Her husband, one daughter and one son preceded her in death.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Wilton, with the Rev. Jerry Crotsenberg officiating. Burial will be in the Dell
Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, Wilton, Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from noon until the services.
