Born in Atlanta, Ga to Ora Partain & Hallie Haskle Smith on March 19, 1929. She was a very dedicated lady who always thought of others before herself. She worked restlessly to help those in need by providing food, clothing & shelter all her life. She was honored one year by the Mayor of Jonesboro for her life's work as a valued community leader. In her life she saw & experienced many hardships, but never once complained. She worked with underprivileged children & provided them with school supplies, lunches/picnics throughout the year, clothing, support for their families & so much more. She was never too proud to ask others for help. Many churches in & around Clayton County heard her cries & came to her with abundance. She was the kind of person who would never let anything get her down. In the last couple of years of her life, she suffered many health problems but she always seemed to bounce back with the help of her friends & family. We found out at Christmas that she had Larynx Cancer and a short 2 weeks later she was gone. Until her last breath, she worried about her kids & community and made sure to others to help wherever they could after she was gone. She & her husband had 5 children, one passed at birth (baby boy Jamie). Children's names: Judy Holsclaw, Joann Draby, James Manus & Penny Hutson. Grand children: James Jr, Amanda, Cody, Andy, Samantha & Hunter. Great grandchild: Hailey & 2 others on the way (updated: Aurora & Fisher). I am very proud to have had her as my mother in this life. I was 14 yrs old when my father passed away & she raised me on her own. I thank her with all my heart & pray that one day I will see her again. I will miss you terribly Mom. I love you... Penny
