Norma J. Ellison, 76, of Rush County, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 5, 1930 in Rushville, she was the daughter of Harry and Letha (Foster) Sterrett, both deceased. She married Melvin F. Ellison July 28, 1950; he preceded her in death April 6, 1996.

Mrs. Ellison did secretarial work at the Rush County Auditor's office, the Soldiers' and Sailors' Children's Home in Knightstown and the Farm Service Center. She was a member of Food, Fad and Fashion Home Ec Club, Center Christian Church and Ladies Euchre Card Club.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Ellison (and wife Katrina) of Rush County; one daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Donald) Jolliff of Rush County; one brother, Jim Sterrett (and wife Katie) of Rush County; one sister, Lois Fishell of California; four grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and one step granddaughter.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Sterrett.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Center Christian Church in Rush County with the Rev. Bill Worrell officiating. Burial will follow in Center Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Center Christian Church or the V.F.W.
