Clarence (Duke) Crowthers was a husband, father of six, grandfather of twelve, and great grandfather of two. He served the U.S. Army in World War II. He worked for Public Service (later NJ Transit) and belonged to Transit Union 880 until he retired in 1982. He loved to travel and tend to his garden. He celebrated 50 years of a happy marriage (wed Jan.31, 1942) with his wife Anna just five months before his death. Predeceased are his father and mother, Clarence Sr and Rose and stepmother Doris, and his brothers Bill and Joseph, he was survived by brothers Raymond, Harry, Harvey, and Roy and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving were his dogs, who he loved, Peanuts, Popcorn, and Rusty. Duke was an active member of VFW Post 424 of Deptford, Faithful Followers (church group) and Keenagers (seniors group) and Berlin Baptist Church.
