Mrs. John Sarver, who has been in ill health for the past year, was taken with a serious attack on Sunday, October 11, and died just a week later at her home in Tenino at 5 o'clock on Sunday morning, October 18, aged 66 years.
Mrs. Sarver was born in Athens county, Ohio, July 19, 1842, and was married in 1861 to John Sarver, who died in this city a year ago last February. In 1862 Mr. and Mrs. Sarver moved to Kansas where they resided until their removal to Tenino in 1888. Four children were born to this union, two, a son and a daughter died since their arrival in Tenino and are buried beside their father in the Grand Mound cemetery, the two living children are J. M. Sarver and Mrs. M. L. Hull, both residing in Seattle. Three brothers and a sister also survive Mrs. Sarver. They are T. J. McClellan of this place, W. M. McClellan, of Hood River, Ore., John McClellan of Oklahoma and Miss Nancy McClellan also residing here.
The funeral service was conducted by Rev. H. W. Thompson, pastor of the Centralia Presbyterian church, at the church here on Wednesday forenoon, and at the conclusion of the sermon the impressive burial services of the Eastern Star was given by the local order. Interment was made in the Grand Mound cemetery where her husband, a son and a daughter and a granddaughter are buried.
Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral of Mrs. Sarver were W. M. McClellan, of Hood River, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Sarver, and Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Hull of Seattle and T. J. Vanderslice and son, Claude, of the Dalles, Ore. - Tenino News.
