They lived next door to John Schrock. The 1870 census of Elm Grove shows Peter Unsicker, 38, Baden; Anna, 36, Switzerland; six children born in Illinois, and laborer Samuel Maurer, 21, Switzerland. In 1880 they appear as P. Unzacker, 47 Germany; Barbara, 45, Switzerlalnd; and seven children born in Illinois with a Swiss servant Hy Hartman. On the 1900 census of Tremont, IL, Peter Unsicker's birth date is given as May 18, 1831 in Germany; Anna is born December 7, 1833 in Switzerland [both dates disagree with their headstones] they had one boarder. On the 1910 census of Tremont, IL Peter gives his year of immigration as 1847, Anna Barbara gives hers as 1855. "History of Illinois and her People"
