The death of Joseph Hirt occurred at his home, 110 Elm street, last evening about 9:30 o'clock following an illness of three months duration with an ailment of the stomach. He was in his sixtieth year. Mr. Hurt was born in Wurtenburg, Germany, but came to this country when a boy. He resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., for a number of years, coming to this city in 1883.

He was a member of the local Cigar Makers union and Danbury Order of Harugari.

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. James Maigis, of Danbury; Mrs. Costa Vlahas, of Jersey City, N.J.; Mrs. James Delavoris, Miss Susan Hirt, Joseph Hirt and Franklin Hirt, of Danbury; one brother, Conrad Hirt, of New York city; and one half-brother, William Marsh, of Buffalo, N.Y.

The funeral will be held at the late home, 110 Elm street, Sunday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock and at St. Joseph's church at 1:00 o'clock. Interment will be in the new Catholic cemetery.

A mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's church on Monday morning at eight o'clock for the repose of his soul.
