Richard V. Christen, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 2, 2006, after a long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sharon Christen; children, Jennifer (Sean) Lake, Amy (Scott) Leslie, Dawn (Kevin) Hall, Brian Christen, Melissa (Joe Kunkel) Christen; grandchildren, Carson and Morgan Lake, Samuel and Oliver Leslie, Raye, Alex, Maddox and Sophia Hall, Mikayla and Chloe Kunkel; sisters, Mary "Due" Beausoleil, Elizabeth (Robert) Kopitzke, Hazel (Robert) Harden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Mary Christen and son, Gene-O Christen.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2006, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. The family will also receive guests on Monday after 12:30 p.m. in St. Catherine's Church where a Memorial Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. His final resting place will be on Caladesi Island, Florida which was one of his favorite places to visit. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Catherine's Church.
