Richard "Dick" Baran, 72, of Monessen, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 in Monongahela Valley Hospital. A son of the late Michael R. and Irene Rowan Baran, he was born in Donora on March 13, 1940. He was a U.S. Marine veteran. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Pierallini Baran; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dr. James Carroll of Ann Arbor, Mich.; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah Baran of Baldwin; four grandchildren, Brendan and Joshua Carroll and Elliot and Dorian Baran; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Ann Baran of Ridgeland, S.C.; FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME is in charge of the arrangments.
