John D. McAllister was the son of Charles Arthur and Mary (Zang) McAllister. On November 3, 1929 he married Grace Elizabeth French in Clovis, New Mexico. In 1932 they moved to Missouri, where John was a farmer most of his life. He helped organize the 4-H club in Forker, Missouri and was it's first president. He was active in the Farm Home Administration, and served on the Forker School Board, and for four years served on the Linn County school board. He and Grace were the parents of three daughters; Nadine, Phyllis, and Carol. After John's death he was cremated and his ashes were sprinkled on his much loved farmland south of Pershing Park in Linn County, Missouri.
