Zum Andenken an meinen Ur-Großvater
Mein Ur-Großvater wurde in Latzig/Pommern (jetzt Polen) geboren. Er arbeitete auf einem Gutshof als Hofmeister. Er war verheiratet mit Bertha Ott (geborene Holz.) Sie hatten zusammen 9 Kinder. Mein Großvater starb im Alter von 54 Jahren im I. Weltkrieg.
In memory of my great-grandfather
My great-grandfather was born in Latzig/Pomerania (now Poland). He worked on a farm as a private tutor. He was married to Bertha Ott (nee Holz). They had 9 children together. My grandfather died at the age of 54 years in the First World War.

Der Mensch ist Gast auf Erden. Und wenn er dort auch eine Heimat fand, so kehrt er doch zu seiner Zeit zurück ins ewige Heimatland.
The man is a guest on earth. And when he found a home there, but he returns back to his time to the eternal homeland.
