Mr. Silvio Wilson Caruso, 93, of 120 Southwood Drive, died in Sampson Regional Medical Center, Monday, February 27, 2012.
Funeral services were held Friday at 11:00 AM at Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Dr. David Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born in 1918 in Riverside, New Jersey, Mr. Caruso was the son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Ditta Caruso. He attended Elon College on a football scholarship and graduated in 1941 with a degree in biology. It was at Elon that he met his future wife, Geraldine. He was a Veteran of the US Army, having served in WWII for 4-1/2 years.
