OWENS - Fred L. Owens, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 44 years, died Sunday, June 26, 1994. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ethel Owens of the family home; daughter, Mary Jane Owens of Albuquerque; grandson, Nathan Owens of Albuquerque; granddaughter Melissa Owens of Albuquerque; brother, Boyd of Missouri; sisters, Bernice of Oklahoma and Olive of Kansas; and nephews, Ray Schick of Colorado. Mr. Owens was a charter member of the Sheetmetal Worker International Local 49, since 1950, where he was a former trustee, board member and president. He was a member of the Sheetmetal Retirees Club. Cremation has taken place. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Fred and Ethel Owens purchased a plot with headstones at Sandia Memory Gardens in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, New Mexico. Findagrave photo volunteer Yvonne Smith reported that the office says they aren not buried there and the headstone (in place because of the death of granddaughter Michelle Owens) does not show a death date for either of them. Fred Owens' remains were cremated and the whereabouts are unknown. Ethel Owens was buried in Oregon.
